The Balance

Enjoy each day!

The ducks have it right!

For the person working hard and caught up with the to-do list, it can be difficult to appreciate what each day brings with it. Some days are hectic, never calm, while on other days, I find myself hunkered down in stacks of files and in research. Each dray brings new challenges and triumphs. And it is up to me to be either the conqueror of my day or the conquered.

With the holiday season upon us, it is easy to forget the small things… and even those special “me” moments. There are not enough hours in the day for me to accomplish everything that I have planned, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love writing, creating my world with words, and I enjoy my day job of diving into legal research – looking often for a needle in the perpetual haystack. I sometimes joke that I am a workaholic, always on the clock, working seven days a week for one job or another, but to be honest, I don’t mind that either. It is a joy to be able to do what makes me happy. I once heard that if you enjoy your job then you never “have” to show up for a day of work. I guess that is the case with me, it is all about finding that balance in my life – figuring out how to accomplish the most with my days (and nights). So, please forgive me for my sporadic posting these last two weeks (not quite on time), but know that I am constantly thinking of what I need to do and still trying to find ways of balancing it all.

Theodore Roosevelt said it best: “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”

So, do you have any ideas on how for me to get the most out of my days?

Drop me a comment and let me know… and until next week, keep smiling!

This a very attractive and creative website. I like how you have tied the theme and layout together. My nickname growing up was Tina as well. How cool. I wish you all the best with your writing and your life. Balance is a very important topic.

    • Thanks Christina for your kind remark. I try to find balance in all things. It is sort of like cooking, too much sugar or salt can ruin an otherwise delicious meal. Happy holidays!
